Yes...We are back at it. For us, school never really ends. Our calendar runs from June 1 through May 31. So, between June first and July 31st we got in 14 days...but this week, on Tuesday, we start our first 'real' day of fifth grade with the new textbooks and such. The previous 14 days were mainly just continuing the math curriculum (which was already 5th grade stuff) and reading/science/health.
We have cracked the new books and we have begun classes at one of the two schools we will be attending this year. Latin and American History will be part of the curriculum at this school...classes taken with other children.
Unfortunately, due to an unexpected problem at the school facility, we did not get our traditional picture at the brick wall by the school sign. The roof at that facility collapsed and we cannot meet there :( so we are meeting in another part of the building. But, I do have some photos to post.....if I ever get them downloaded. My fifth grader is getting taller by the day!!
