On Sunday, November 1, 2009 we had the pleasure of celebrating Grammy's (Dolores Aquila's) 73rd birthday with her. She is such a vibrant and youthful woman...who loves her Lord, her family and her friends! With the exception of her second child and his family (who live in Texas) the rest of the children and grandchildren were present for the special lunch at Connor's. This is one of her favorite places to eat...and I have to say, they do know how to make a special day truly special there.

..but GRAMMY wanted a whole serving of strawberry shortcake.....her own piece and would not share with Mary...so she ordered her own...ate it ALL and then finished Mary's as well. As you can see, the portion size is quite ample. We have STILL not let her live this down !!

Has Julia lost weight? Hard to tell in the picture but it looks like she has in her face.
Wow! I can't believe Dolores ate all that strawberry shortcake and finished Mary's also! Well, in a way I can I guess. I know she watches what she eats most of the time but definitely liked to splurge on special occasions! (she used to always talk about how much she ate at Thanksgiving each year and would splurge with the desserts it seemed then too!) She is a hoot!
Don't know about Julia...had not noticed.. a huge difference in size.......but she does look a lot slimmer in that photo, doesn't she?
Dolores IS funny..and her strawberry shortcake story will be one we'll laugh at forever. She has really watched her eating and has lost a pretty good bit of weight over the last year or two. SO, she can afford to splurge. Plus she line dances 3-4 hours a day usually 5 days a week.
