"Christmas Vacation" revisited......

Every year, we watch the edited version of "Christmas Vacation" with Chevy Chase. One of the big parts of the movie is his adventures with 'exterior illumination.' Well, we have our own Clark W. Griswold right here in Harvest, Alabama.

After working off and on for three days, Bruce was ready to light the lights for the first time. (and this only shows part of them) So, here is the before........

.....and after......

Please feel free to drive by anytime to enjoy them:) We'd love to see you.

We don't usually do outside lights. We are doing really well to get the tree up, usually. We might actually try to get the tree up today. We'll see. The edited version of the "Christmas Vacation" movie - are you talking about the one shown on TV or do you have a copy? We've never watched that one because I've been concerned about undesirable content (remembering the other Vacation movies!).

Bruce is our "outside" guy. He actually took off this whole week and this was one of his projects:) We did the tree and other inside stuff today...so we are about ready to just sit back and enjoy the season.

As far as the movie, we have seen the tv and original versions. The original has more 'stuff' than either of us care to see/hear. The tv version isn't too bad for adults, and it's not something that Abigail watches (except for certain parts...like the lighting of the lights or the very end where the explosion happens).
